NESTOR FERNANDEZ, PRESIDENT
Committed to giving back to the community, Mr. Fernandez has continued his father’s founding support of the Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce as a current member of the Board of Directors. He also actively participates in leadership roles for the Jaycees, Eagles, and Moose Associations.
With lifelong experience the metal products industry, beginning at age 12, he has diligently striven to incorporate innovations with production. A graduate of Penn State’s Executive MBA Program and member of the IFI, SAE, SME and ASM, for over 24 years he has guided the team at Akko Fastener in the capacity of President with meticulous attention to delivering quality cold formed fastener products.
DAVID BIDDLE, CFO
David Biddle is a CPA and alumni of Wright State University. He holds current licensures with the Accounting Board of Ohio, Six Sigma (Black Belt), the AICPA as an Information Technology Professional (CITP) and a Certified Global Accounting Manager (CGAM).
With over 30 years of professional management, information systems, and accounting experience, Mr. Biddle’s expertise has enabled him to introduce numerous process improvements at Akko Fastener, designed to optimize finance operations. With strategic planning, BI, and advanced analysis, he is developing innovative strategies to meet the challenges of today’s global technological economy.
ED BECK, OPERATIONS MANAGER
Ed Beck graduated Summa cum laude at the University of Cincinnati and has been a valued member of the Akko Fastener team since 2001. His background in social work provides him with a keen ability to work with and train employees through positive, team-building techniques and he has applied those skills to enhance his interest in manufacturing and distribution excellence.
His current involvement focuses on structuring the various engineering, production, and supply chain procedures of the company to help eliminate wastes and maintain superior customer relations.
ROBERT W. BOYLES, QUALITY MANAGER
With over 25 years of hands-on involvement in manufacturing, Robert Boyles can boast of Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier experience in the automotive, appliance, and DoD industries. His fastener knowledge is only exceeded by his dedication to superior production performances.
Dedicated to compliance performance excellence, as the Quality Manager at Akko Fastener, Mr. Boyles diligently maintains conformance to fabrication standards, engineering protocols, and ISO technical specifications relative to quality management systems. He focuses his attention on delivering perfectly manufactured fasteners and parts for our customers through a heightened sense of production excellence and departmental cooperation.
ART HUGE, SALES MANAGER
U.S. Navy veteran, Art Huge has worked with the Fernandez family’s businesses for over two decades. With extensive experience in manufacturing sales, he has cultivated his expertise in machining, casting, wire harness, fastener, and after-market packaging and sequencing techniques.
His widespread knowledge enables him to confidently discuss and help examine customer needs, develop effective marketing strategies, and venture into new market opportunities. He has successfully increased sales and helped diversify Akko’s customer base by being able to suggest real fastener solutions for customers, designed to help them reduce their operating costs and labor expenses.
BRANDON LOGAN, ACCOUNT MANAGER
Brandon Logan has been able to combine his double major in Interpersonal Communications and Psychology at Western Michigan University in 2010 with his working experience in CRM (customer relationship management) and sales to become an integral member of Akko Fastener’s professional team.
Concentrated on delivering the absolute finest customer service for our clients, Mr. Logan strives to maintain strong relationships with current customers and works to develop innovative outreach programs that will establish connections with new SMBs as well as large corporate accounts. His personal efforts ensure that every customer receives superior service and dedicated supplier commitment.
VINCE COLALUCA, CANADIAN SALES REPRESENTATIVE
With over 25 years of sales experience for leading global fastener companies, Vince Colaluca has been the recipient of numerous Sales Achievement Awards, including the President’s award for superior customer support. Vince attended Seneca College and studied Mechanical Engineering. He enjoys family activities such as cycling and home renovation.
Versed and dedicated to the development and sale of high-performance products, Mr. Colaluca specializes in automotive and commercial fastener applications and thread requirements, such as are available with TAPTITE® and REMFORM® fasteners. He brings a wealth of knowledge and commitment to the Akko team.
